Springboard: Educating the Future
in Egypt

Apache founded Springboard in 2004 to provide educational opportunities to underserved populations.

Apache and Springboard have partnered with Egypt’s National Council for Childhood and Motherhood and the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development to provide educational prospects for girls. Since its launch, Apache has built 201 one-room schools in rural areas of Egypt where educational opportunities for girls are scarce.

In addition to building the schools, we help maintain the properties, procure supplies such as books and computers, organize educational student outings, and assist with some medical and clothing needs of the student population.

Over our 16-year history, we have helped approximately 15,000 girls learn to read and write. Approximately 85% of the girls who start at a Springboard school graduate. Some of these students go on to middle schools and eventually pursue advanced degrees.
