MARK J. BRIGHT was appointed senior vice president of Planning effective June 1, 2019, having been vice president of Strategic Planning and Risk Management since June 2015 and vice president – North America Oil and Gas Marketing since March 2011.
He joined the company in 1999 and held positions of increasing responsibility within the finance organization and subsequently served as Controller – North America Operations including corporate accounting. Mr. Bright contributed significantly to the finance organization during a period when Apache rapidly expanded its North America operations.
Mr. Bright began his career in 1984 with TXO Production working the Arkoma Basin in their Fort Smith, Arkansas, office. After two years, he moved to California to lead the accounting, commercial, and supply chain groups for their West Coast operations. Mr. Bright then joined Sonat Exploration in 1992 and held various finance leadership positions for seven years before joining Apache.
He holds bachelor’s degrees in both accounting and management from Southeast Missouri State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
