TIMOTHY R. CUSTER was appointed senior vice president – Land in July 2021. Previously, he served as senior vice president – commercial since April 2020; senior vice president – Land, Business Development and Real Estate since September 2018; senior vice president – North America Land, Government Affairs and Real Estate since January 1, 2016; vice president – North America Land, Government Affairs and Real Estate since June 1, 2015; and vice president – Land since May 2014. Mr. Custer had been the land and commercial manager in the Permian Region since it was established in 2010. He joined the company as senior staff landman for the company’s former Western Region in 1996 and subsequently served as a manager and director in Business Development.
Mr. Custer began his career as a landman with Amoco Production Company, working the Permian Basin, in 1985. He was promoted to gas buyer for Amoco’s natural gas liquids business unit in 1993 and took on the role of acquisitions and divestitures transactions coordinator for Amoco in 1995.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum land management from the University of Texas at Austin.
